Contact & Report an Issue
Last updated
A practical page rather than a marketing one. FLYPEDIA has no contact form, no mailing list and nothing to sell; this page exists so that a reader who has found a problem knows where it should go and what to put in it.
Contact route
randgard45@gmail.com
This is the address for everything on this page: corrections, source questions, copyright and attribution concerns, privacy requests and technical faults. Please say which of those your message is about, and include the address of the page concerned.
What you can write about
- factual corrections, an incorrect figure, date, specification or historical claim
- source problems: a citation that does not support its statement, or a reference that is wrong or unreachable
- broken links and technical faults
- accessibility problems
- translation errors or inconsistencies between the English and French text
- copyright and trademark concerns
- photography attribution, a credit, licence or source that appears to be wrong
- privacy and data protection requests
- questions about how a particular entry was researched
What to include
Please give the address of the page, identify the passage or image concerned, and say what the problem is. For a factual correction, a source supporting it is by far the most useful thing you can provide: it is usually the difference between a correction that can be made and one that has to sit unresolved while the record is re-checked.
Please send only what is needed. There is no reason to include sensitive personal information in a message to an aviation encyclopedia.
Copyright and attribution concerns
Copyright and image attribution reports are taken seriously and are reviewed on their merits. Please see Copyright & Image Licensing, which sets out what a report should contain and how it is handled.
Content is not removed automatically on the strength of an assertion alone, in either direction: a claim is reviewed, and where it is well-founded the image or passage is corrected, re-credited or removed.
Privacy requests
Requests to exercise rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability) should identify what you are asking for. Note that the settings and saved entries created as you use the site are held in your own browser and can be cleared by you directly; the project has no copy of them. See the Privacy Policy.
What to expect
FLYPEDIA is a small project. It does not guarantee a reply to every message, a response within any particular period, or that every report will result in a change. Reports are read, and substantiated ones are acted on.
This is stated plainly rather than dressed up as a service commitment, because a published response time that is not met is worse than no promise at all.
